...of the Ta'noa Legacy
I was born on Alderaan, my mother was sister to the Lord of House Granok. Even as a toddler, they saw my power and sent me to the Jedi. To the Jedi to be trained. The Jedi... In the beginning the Jedi enclave on Alderaan felt like a stepping stone - a way to reach more. I studied at the feet of my masters, absorbing their knowledge. In my future they saw me becoming a great Jedi healer, sharing my strength to keep the noble knights of the order fighting in the cold war against the Sith. The cold war that was obviously a lot warmer than sanctioned holonews lead on. When I reached the age of nine, my master called me to her office and gave me a task. "You are to locate Jedi master Zhen and learn from him." With that she gave me a new robe and shoved me out the door. I stood outside her office for a long time, confused. Had my master just thrown me out? Given up on my training? I thought I was doing well. I was clearly ahead of many other initiates in the enclave. More powerful, deeper understanding of my connection to the Force. Why had my master abandoned me? Still, I managed to walk away. My feet brought me to the records office, following orders of my master had become an automated response, I had been given a task and I was going to fulfill it. The records office was empty, with the exception of a protocol droid standing by to assist students with searches in the databanks of the enclave. I ignored the droid and moved to a terminal, selected the personel section and entered the name. When the records terminal came up blank on my search for Jedi Master Zhen, my interest stirred and the thoughts of the betrayal were pushed into the deep recesses of my mind. Who is this Jedi who doesn't even show up in the enclave records?

I felt my master's weakness, I knew he could not teach me any more, he had outlived his usefulness. As I looked at him, crouched on the floor in deep meditation, I saw clearly what had to be done. Ironically, my Master would have said that the Force was giving me clarity, showing me what to do. I focused on a point deep inside my chest. Gradually I let the point grow, a kernel of power growing tendrils of strength through my body. I felt the power reach my shoulders and spread down my arms, a warm tingling sensation in my fingers. I stretched my hands out towards my master and saw a tiny blue arc jump between the tips of my fingers. It was over in moments. The room was filled with an acrid stench of electrified flesh. The steaming remains of my master twitched one last time and lay still, face down on the floor.
It was perfectly quiet, nothing moved as I watched. Time itself had stopped as the universe opened itself up to accept me. To acknowledge the new power that had risen. Now I was someone, someone with a purpose. I was not chosen, I was the one making the choice - The galaxy will fear me!
